About Me

This is a story about a girl, her wonderful Savior, her awesome husband and the work she does with teenagers.

I became a Christian on March 17, 2001.  I was 16, and up until that day, I had always assumed love had to be earned.  Then I was introduced to the God of the universe who made me, knew me, loved me and died for me.  My life hasn't been the same since.

Senior year of high school, with plans to become an optometrist, God called me into youth ministry.  I thought then, and still sometimes now, that He was crazy for doing that.  Youth ministry is at turns weird, amazingly fun, completely draining, awe-inspiring and I can't imagine doing anything else with my life.  Unless you count my lifelong dream to become a new flavor developer for Ben & Jerry's.

I met my husband on November 1, 2008 after moving back home from California to begin my current ministry position.  I never thought I'd meet a guy I liked so much, let alone have him want to put up with me too.  We're still figuring things out, but I am daily reminded how blessed I am to have him as my husband.  He's funny, thoughtful, hard-working, kind, supportive and he can grill a steak to absolute perfection.

On March 19, 2012 our first child's life ended in miscarriage.  We're still in the process of learning how that impacts our day-to-day lives.

I started this blog to process what God was teaching me about life, ministry and His grace that never gives up.  Welcome to the adventure.
