Hobbies

Ever since I started in full-time ministry, I have always enjoyed cleaning my home.  It's therapeutic, it has a visible reward, it's cathartic and let's be honest, my house needed it.  I like it so much that I've often contemplated starting my own cleaning business someday when I'm not working full-time at the church.

But I've recently come to the realization that I need hobbies besides cleaning and watching Grey's Anatomy.  So I'm going to try something that I've wanted to do for some time, but never had the guts to do...quilting.  I have a very dear friend that quilts, as well as my mother in law, and I've always loved that they could give something so beautiful, practical and homemade as gifts.  And with a new niece or nephew on the way, I wanted to be able to make something special for my brother and his wife.  So this Saturday my mother in law graciously allowed me to pillage her sewing room for fabric and helped me figure out a basic plan.

I'll keep you posted on how this new adventure goes, and if my house stays as clean as it has been.
