The Meaning Of Life

At our high school ministry big group night, we've been going through a series called Purpose and talking about what the church, and more specifically we as Christians, has been put here for.  This past Sunday, I spoke about compassion.  To start my research, I googled the meaning of life.  Here's the results:

1 - the philosophical question concerning the purpose and significance of life or existence in general

2 - an Irish TV show that first aired in 2009

3 - the 4th studio album from German thrash metal band Tankard

4 - 42

Needless to say, I'm not entirely impressed with Google's results.  If the meaning of life is 42, then we're all screwed.  I like what Ephesians says better:

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
~Ephesians 5:1-2

And that, my friends, sounds way better than German thrash metal.  Not that I've ever actually listened to German thrash metal, but seriously, do you really think it would sound as good as the Word of God?  Me neither.
